Why Locals Love NOMI PWLLHELI
NOMI PWLLHELI is a standout modern Indian restaurant nestled in the heart of Pwllheli’s High Street. Far from the typical "copy and paste" curries found in many Indian establishments, NOMI offers a refined and adventurous culinary experience that both regulars and newcomers rave about. From the moment you step inside, the atmosphere strikes a perfect balance between elegant and inviting, creating an ideal setting for everything from casual dinners to special celebrations.
The menu is a delightful exploration of authentic flavors with a contemporary twist. Signature dishes praised by patrons include the indulgent Punjabi Butter Chicken, the aromatic Lamb Malabar paired with fragrant saffron rice, and innovative starters like Chicken Biryani Arancini that surprise and delight the palate. Portions are thoughtfully sized—plentiful enough to satisfy without overwhelming—offering a satisfying yet balanced dining experience.
One of NOMI’s distinguishing touches is the expertly curated wine pairings. These perfectly complement the rich, vibrant spices of each dish, elevating the meal and adding to the restaurant’s classy ambiance. Customers consistently commend the freshness of the ingredients and the deep, mouthwatering layers of flavor that unfold with each bite.
Service here is equally impressive. Guests such as Steve, celebrating a special anniversary, have been left “blown away” by the attentive staff and the stunning presentation of every dish. Another loyal diner, Mark Nicholson, highlights how the restaurant’s approach to portion control and innovative menu choices sets it far apart from other Indian dining options.
Whether you’re a local or just visiting Pwllheli, NOMI offers a dining experience that is both memorable and deeply satisfying. The combination of imaginative cuisine, impeccable service, and a warm atmosphere makes it a must-visit destination for anyone craving a genuine taste of modern Indian cuisine in North Wales.

Fantastic Indian Restaurant. Not the same copy & paste menu and dishes found at every Indian Restaurant in the country. Some very welcome alternative dishes and a more reasonable portion size as well, plenty of food without being excessive. Wine parings on the menu are spot on and greatly improve the classy feel. We were only 1 of 2 tables in at the time which is a shame but the staff couldn't have been more friendly and helpful.

Great experience this evening, highly recommend. Very impressed after my first visit. Atmosphere was great, service was excellent, and the food was well presented, well balanced and full of flavour. Overall I would highly recommend and will definitely be returning.

Probably the best Indian restaurant in the North of England. I’m mainly based around Manchester and Cheshire. Nominus head and shoulders above anything in the curry mile in Manchester or even Dishoom, and I live dishoom. Dishoom is the tops for breakfast, Nomi is the best evening meal.

What a phenomenal meal at @nomipwllheli. Everything was absolutely exquisite and delicious! We had the Popodum basket (with mango chutney/lime pickle/tamarind chutney) followed by mixed Bhaji and Chicken Biryani Arancini with Punjabi Butter Chicken & Lamb Malabar and saffron rice and garlic naan. Highly recommended

Lovely service! The two girls are very polite and welcoming, one of them (slightly smaller, hair pinned back) was absolutely lovely and had such a gentle voice when serving! Food was served at a perfect to eat temp. Lovely food!

Great food, limited menu but done very well. The restaurant itself is pleasant and the staff are exceptionally friendly. Service is timely and we didn’t have to wait too long at all. We were also left to finish our wine in peace even though we’d finished our mains, which is a nice change from many restaurants which are in a hurry to turn the table. On the whole I would highly recommend.
